ATELIER - the basement

Atelier was born in 2019 as a versatile space for photographers to create and for neighbors to gather. Since 2019, we have had thousands of people gather on Madison St at our original location. In 2024, we bought a brand new building right on 5th st to serve as our office and an additional location for photographers to create and make their own.

ATELIER - the basement is perfect for intimate private photoshoots.
You have the entire basement to yourself, and all the windows are frosted.

Originally built in the 1700s, the building retains much of its original structure and charm. The basement level serves as the dedicated photo studio, while the first and second floors are used as offices for Mullins Media Co.

The studio features exposed brick flooring throughout, softened by thoughtfully placed rugs for added warmth. The main shooting space includes two artificial window lights that provide bright, clean, natural-looking light with the flip of a switch.

When you rent ATELIER – the basement, you’ll have exclusive access to the entire basement level, including a private restroom and the adjoining foyer. The foyer serves as a changing area, lounge, and additional photo location.

The Kentucky hotel is a remarkable piece of history. This Federal style home is a remarkable survival for a 19th Century structure that was so important to Lynchburg's history. Originally built as a private residence then in 1814 converted to a hotel. It was one of the 16 ordinaries that housed travelers during the early growth of the City. It retains much of the original features and details
